Your keys are created offline and never leave the device
ZERO is a fully offline device. It never connects over USB, Bluetooth, NFC, WiFi or 4G while creating your keys or signing transactions: everything it exchanges with the outside world goes through QR codes. There is simply no online connection for a hacker to use.

ZERO has four layers of tamper protection. You can’t open it without damaging it, and you can’t put it back together without leaving traces, so you can check that nobody touched it on its way to you.
After setup, sensors inside ZERO wipe the device if someone opens it.

To add an additional layer of security in your interactions with the device, we incorporated a biometric sensor. Your fingerprint is used to create a personal key, and to unlock your device and sign transactions in combination with a solid 8-digit PIN code.

ZERO’s Operating System (OS) has been developed from scratch by our experienced security experts. Whereas some hardware wallets rely on mobile phone operating systems, NGRAVE removes any associated vulnerabilities by offering its own OS.

Mnemonic seed supported
ZERO introduces the NGRAVE ‘Perfect Key’: 64 hexadecimal characters that represent the same 256-bit secret as a 24-word seed phrase. Both formats convert into each other, and ZERO shows you either one in its settings, so you are never locked in.
Sandboxed update mode
Firmware updates without exposing your keys
ZERO’s USB-C port is used for charging and firmware updates. Data transfer over USB is impossible unless ZERO is in ‘update mode’. In that mode it only receives update packages, and the USB connection is sandboxed from every part of the device that holds sensitive data.

Enter the amount and the destination in the LIQUID app. LIQUID turns the unsigned transaction into a QR code for your ZERO.
Sign your transaction offline on ZERO
Scan the QR code with ZERO’s camera, check the details on its screen and confirm with your fingerprint or PIN. ZERO signs offline and shows the signed transaction as a new QR code.
Send the signed transaction to the blockchain
Scan ZERO’s QR code with LIQUID, which broadcasts the signed transaction to the blockchain. At no point did your private key leave ZERO.
